xI Am a Bird Now is the second album by Antony and the Johnsons, released on February 1, 2005, by Secretly Canadian. After winning the 2005 Mercury Prize, the album jumped from #135 to #16 on the UK albums chart, marking the biggest leap in the prize's history. By September 2011, it had sold 220,000 copies in the UK.
The album includes guest appearances by Rufus Wainwright, Devendra Banhart, Joan Wasser, Boy George, and Lou Reed. The cover features Peter Hujar's photograph of Candy Darling on her deathbed.
