In industrial applications, clear, permanent labeling of cables and wires is essential. Stainless steel cable ties form a stable basis for professional cable labeling systems, especially in combination with our Texit stainless steel cable labels. They are used wherever extreme environmental conditions prevail (weather influences) and plastic markings reach the limits of their durability. This is the case in safety-critical industries/companies such as power plants, but also for machines in the chemical industry (contact with chemicals) or in shipbuilding and offshore wind turbines.
Here, stainless steel cable ties support standard-compliant labeling and contribute to compliance with safety and documentation requirements. Thanks to their metallic design, they are also non-flammable and do not produce toxic gases in the event of a fire—a clear advantage over plastic solutions.
Position the
stainless steel cable tie around the cables, wires, or components to be fastened and insert the end of the tie into the locking head until the ball lock engages.
Tensioning & aligning
Place the cables or components in the desired position and tighten the tie to the required pre-tension by pulling evenly. Alternatively, use the cable tie pliers for stainless steel cable ties.
Cutting off
Cut off any excess tape material directly at the sealing head using the cable tie pliers for stainless steel cable ties.
Note:
Once tightened, the stainless steel cable tie is permanently locked and cannot be loosened again.
Thanks to their robust construction, stainless steel cable ties have a very high holding force and can withstand strong tensile forces without loosening. This ensures a permanently secure fastening of cable bundles, hoses, or pipes. In sensitive areas where sharp edges must be avoided, rounded closures offer additional protection for personnel and materials with high resistance and durability.
Stainless steel cable ties are designed for professional use in extreme industrial environments. They offer high tensile strength and resistance to corrosion, salt water, chemicals, and UV radiation. Typical applications include mechanical and plant engineering, where high temperatures, oils, or mechanical stresses occur. In shipbuilding, they resist salt water and high humidity without corroding.
In power plants and the chemical industry, stainless steel cable ties ensure secure fastening of cables even in potentially explosive or heavily loaded environments. They are also suitable for outdoor use, for example in photovoltaic or wind power plants. Their versatility makes them a universal solution for professional industrial applications.
If you are looking for standard-compliant, durable, and secure cable labeling in accordance with IEC, EN, DIN, ISO, ATEX, or shipbuilding guidelines, stainless steel cable ties are the first choice.
They offer the perfect material properties for mechanical engineering, plant engineering, power plants, shipbuilding, and the chemical industry. This is especially true in combination with Texit stainless steel cable labels:
IEC / EN 60204-1 – Permanent, secure cable marking in mechanical engineering, resistant to heat, oil, and vibration
IEC / EN 61439 – Long-term stable fastening and labeling in switchgear
DIN EN ISO 12944 – Corrosion protection in industrial and outdoor areas (C4 / C5)
ATEX / IECEx – Use in potentially explosive atmospheres
Shipbuilding (DNV, Lloyd's Register) – Non-combustible, saltwater- and vibration-resistant

The most stable cable ties are those made of stainless steel. Compared to plastic ties, they offer significantly higher tensile strength and resistance to external influences. Stainless steel versions with high material thickness are particularly suitable for heavy loads and permanent fastenings in industrial environments.
The advantages of stainless steel cable ties are:
Corrosion resistance: Particularly resistant to acids and seawater.
Temperature resistance: Stainless steel cable ties can withstand extreme temperatures.
UV resistance: All stainless steel cable ties are UV resistant and ideal for outdoor use.
Stainless steel cable ties work on the principle of self-locking. The strap is fed through a locking head that prevents it from slipping back. Tightening creates a secure, form-fitting connection. A special tool can be used to set the desired tension precisely before the excess end of the strap is cut off cleanly. Once tightened, stainless steel cable ties can only be removed with special cable tie pliers.
Once installed, stainless steel cable ties cannot usually be removed without being destroyed. To remove them, the tie is usually cut with side cutters or a special cutting tool. This feature increases tamper resistance and is expressly desired in many industrial applications.
No, classic stainless steel cable ties cannot be reopened. They are designed for permanent fastenings. However, there are special versions with screw or ball closures that can be loosened. These are mainly used where temporary installations are required.
Yes, metal cable ties—especially those made of stainless steel—are extremely sturdy. They retain their mechanical properties even under high loads, large temperature fluctuations, and in aggressive environments. This makes them the first choice for professional users who depend on maximum safety and durability.
