bold, soulful, refined
About the Instrument
This violin is delight to play, responsive and resonant. Its timbre is bold and supple across registers making it a lovely instrument for solos and group playing. The strong medium curl figure rises from the center joint of the two-piece maple back. Similar flames run along the ribs and scroll. Its f-holes emulate those of Guarneri’s instruments. The varnish is auburn over a wheat ground, which shows through with lively shading. This violin is thoughtfully antiqued by its maker and is in excellent condition.
