Montalbino, Rosso 2022

Variety: Fogliatonda, Canaiolo, Sangiovese, Colorino

Located in Montespertoli in the province of Florence, Montalbino is an independent producer with centuries old ties to this part of Tuscany. The farm has been owned by the Tinacci family since the 1990s and includes 90 hectares of land, though only 5 are currently planted with vineyards. Certified organic in 2008, the farm engages biodynamic techniques to ensure a healthy ecosystem- to much benefit of the wine. The property is also home to over 2,000 olive trees. 

After a manual harvest the grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation in steel tanks, maturation for 12 months in rough concrete tanks and just over 6 months in the bottle.
