On a daily basis, we are inundated with requests for our suggestions on finding the "perfect" vintage dress watch. There are of course a multitude of possibilities when considering fine men's timepieces from the past century, but our criteria always remains consistent.
A proper dress watch should be thin and unobtrusive, cased in a precious metal, and feature a simple dial layout without unnecessary complication or clutter. Furthermore, it is entirely unnecessary to spend your whole watch budget on a dress piece - there are literally hundreds of fantastic options for relatively little money. Be it Early American, Japanese, or Swiss in origin, so long as these criteria are met you're on the right track.
When we spotted this 18K Pink Gold Omega from the 1950s, we knew it was a winner. The case is just the right size with a diameter of nearly 35mm and a thickness of only 8mm, making it a sophisticated and elegant choice for the modern wrist. The matte silver dial had a desirable speckled patination and features gold-toned applied dart hour markers and gold applied Omega logo. The clean appearance is accented nicely by the simple subsidiary register at 6:00.
A manually winding Calibre 267 Omega movement rests inside, which has been fully serviced and is humming along like new. There is just enough patina to the dial to really make it stand out, while the pink gold case is in extremely good condition, allowing the wearer to proclaim his affection for historical timepieces without the excessive wear often seen on pieces of this age.
For all of you seeking that "perfect" vintage dress watch, look no further, this is about as perfect as they come!
