Philodendron verrucosum Amazon Sunset

This is a rare climbing cultivar prized for its vibrant colors. Its large, velvety, dark green leaves feature a stunning vivid red to orange underside, creating a dramatic "sunset" effect.

• Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Good light is crucial for maximizing the vibrant red coloration on the leaf undersides. Protect the sensitive, velvety leaves from any direct sunlight, which will cause burning.
• Temperature: Thrives in consistent warmth, with ideal daytime temperatures between 68-82°F (20-28°C). Avoid cold drafts and temperatures below 60°F (15°C).
• Humidity: Requires high humidity, ideally 70-90%. High, stable humidity is essential to prevent the delicate leaf edges from browning and to ensure new leaves unfurl correctly without damage.
• Watering: Use a coarse, well-aerated aroid mix. Allow the top 1-2 inches of the mix to dry out completely between waterings. Roots are susceptible to rot if kept soggy.
