Vintage 1980s Arnold Scaasi Cape Collar Ruffled Cocktail Dress

This exuberant vintage 1980s Arnold Scaasi party dress is the most gorgeous daffodil yellow taffeta. The shape of this dress is so unique and SO Scaasi— the construction is just incredible.  The bodice is boned, and fitted to be like a corset. Look at the shape created with pleating at the shoulders and waistband— this is masterful dressmaking. The skirt is so wonderfully full, bolstered by lining in the skirt, which has extra wide horsehair in the hem, plus two layers to tulle towards the hem. I love how they can kind of peek out like a petticoat. All of this serves to achieve a flattering hourglass silhouette. Made in the USA for Scaasi's "Boutique" label; no fiber contents are listed but feels like silk or silk blend taffeta.

Measurements: This will best fit a size X-Small and Small. Keep in mind the bodice is boned.
